White Canyon is the true story about a place at the bottom of Lake Powell; a place few people knew and almost no one remembers. This book is both a love song to the desert and a tribute to some of the last of the American pioneers. It is the story of upper Glen Canyon, the history, the lake, and the things that were lost. It is about White Canyon Town, the people, the desert, the river, and the uranium boom of the early 1950s. It is about Lorin and Bertha Winn and their sons and daughters who migrated to that beautiful river valley and made it a home in 1952.

This book puts the print of humanity on the red rocks of upper Glen Canyon in that not so long ago time before Lake Powell changed the face and feel of Southern Utah forever.
