Qualified Charitable Distributions
If you are 70.5 years or older, you can give any amount (up to a total annual maximum of $105,000 for 2024) per year from your traditional IRA directly to qualified public charities such as the Glen Canyon Institute without having to pay income taxes on the money. Gifts of any value up to the annual total of $105,000 in 2024 are eligible for this benefit and you can feel good knowing that you are making a difference at the Glen Canyon Institute. This is called a qualified charitable distribution, or QCD for short.

Gift Membership
A gift membership is a great way to introduce your friends to GCI and encourage them to take action to restore Glen Canyon. You can provide your friend(s) with a gift membership by sending us your name and address, a gift membership fee of $30, and the names and addresses of the recipients of your gift.

Legacy Giving
Have you thought about the legacy you will leave for other generations after you’re gone? If the permanent restoration of Glen Canyon is important to you, we hope you’ll consider a legacy gift to Glen Canyon Institute.
There are a number of ways to make a legacy gift to GCI. Your financial advisor or estate planning professional can help you choose the right legacy gift for you and your family, but here are some options:
Bequest Name GCI in your will or trust. Contact us for sample bequest language.
Stock A gift of securities or other assets can avoid capital gains while providing a tax deduction.
Other Options Include life income gifts such as charitable gift annuities or charitable remainder trusts, life insurance policies, gifts of retirement funds like IRA’s, and gifts of real estate.
