2024 GCI Member River Trip, August 25-31st

Glen Canyon Institute is excited to announce our 2024 member river trip will be on the Colorado River through Canyonlands, Cataract, and Upper Glen Canyon. This special seven day trip will focus on restoring sections of river and side canyons that GCI and partners have been studying. The trip will feature Returning Rapids principal investigator Mike DeHoff. 

Mike has spent 30 years along this section of river and in the last five been working to understand how the river is changing as the reservoir Lake Powell retreats. Learn more about the Returning Rapids Project here.

This seven day, six night trip will follow the Colorado River through Canyonlands National Park winding through Meander or Stillwater, Cataract, and Narrow Canyons. We will experience exhilarating whitewater rapids and ~35 miles of restored Colorado River that has come back to life.

Mike and GCI’s staff and board will help you understand the history and future of this amazing place. As always, the top-notch guides at Holiday River Expeditions will offer rich interpretation of the river experience and provide amazing healthy and delicious meals.

When: August 25th – 31st 2024, seven days, six nights on the river. 

Where: We will meet the evening before our trip on 8/24 in Green River, Utah at the Holiday River Expeditions HQ where we will leave our cars and be shuttled to and from the river.  

Price: $2,099 until March 1st then the price goes to $2,299
